Hito is a boy who doesn't play much with his friends and likes being alone. One day, he finds a piece of wood about the size of his head at a garbage dump and uses it to create his own "robot." With teeth that are nailed down and hair and eyes with visible stitches, the doll looks creepy to the casual observer, and he names it "Mokume." Soon, he begins to think, "I wish it could really move," and tries to make a wish come true by using telekinesis on the energy of the universe...A masterpiece collection of short stories depicting the transience and fear of childhood, including the title story "Wish" and seven other stories! At the end of the volume, editor Kentaro Takekuma writes, "My UMEZZ Experience."
